Designs for ironwork.
I have a vast collection of CAD drawings done over the years for customers and just as a design base to work with for customers. After all we need to have some basic idea of what we want before that idea can be developed. For most designs you need to figure out a basic shape first before you start. For gates and railings that’s usually working out if you just want a flat top to your gate. Prefer an upward arch in the gate, or a downward dip. If its the latter it is then a case of deciding how much of a dip or arch you want. A pair of gates with a rise to the centre of 200mm, in a 3ft wide leaf might look good. Take that 200mm rise and put it on a gate leaf of 8ft wide and its going to start looking a little flat. Now that might be the look you want a flatter arch.
