Wrought iron garden gates.
This is how we refer to gates around 3ft high, often found as a low or short pedestrian gate, at the front of a garden. Sometimes referred to as a front gate or a single gate. Often in conjunction with matching design garden wall railings. Can be hung from a suitable brick pier, steel posts, or wooden posts. Because of their low height they are not considered as a security gate although locks can be fitted if required. But a closed gate is more secure than no gate. We currently have 100s of designs on file.

Wrought iron side gates.

Wrought iron side gates are usually around 5 or 6ft tall. Often securing a rear access to a property via a side alley. Which might explain why they are occasionally referred to as an alley gate or security gate. These can be made with a key lock if required improving their security value. Despite being see through, this can give better security than a solid gate. Simply because any one up to no good can be spotted through the gate, rather than being hidden behind a solid gate.
In terms of designs available there are a massive amount of options. The additional height over a metal garden gate, gives greater option in terms of what can be done design wise.

Wrought iron driveway gates, usually referring to a pair of gates, providing some security for a driveway. Car insurance is often cheaper if the car is kept on a driveway with locked gates over night. Can be made as bi fold gates if limited swing to open and close gates. Sometime used as an option when on a sloped driveway. This reduces the gap required for clearance to open under the gates.

Wrought iron estate gates.

Wrought iron estate gates is perhaps just a posh terms for tall driveway gates. Due to their height they provide better security than a standard pair of driveway gates. These are often motorised, although we don’t get involved in the electrification of gates. Quite a few that we build have been electrified by a certified contractor or by customer purchasing their own kits and motorising.
Not unusual to make an offset pair, where one gate leaf is smaller than the other. This can be useful where the gates are the only access and no pedestrian gate. The small gate works as pedestrian access and when car access is required both gate are opened.
