Decorative railing heads.

Because no design is fixed we offer a choice in the design of railing head that can be used. Modern day railing heads are hot stamped mild steel. In short a piece of steel is heated to red hot and then stamped between a top and bottom tool. Because the steel is hot it become soft. Soft enough to stamped into the shape of the tool. This makes them ideal for welding. Cast railings don’t weld. The majority are now made in the far east and imported into the UK.

Although we could attempt to buy in bulk and get a better discount from suppliers. This would mean, limiting the number of options available, So we buy as we need them, more expensive but allows for more customer choice. Railing heads do vary in price, some are less than 50 pence each others are £5 each. So the choice can have an effect on the price of the railing or gate.

Some railing heads are ideally designed for Square upright bars others for round bar. Some for 12mm uprights others for 16mm and 20mm. Obviously we can help guide you through the choice. What i would suggest is that on a low wall railing or low gate you go for a blunt type railing rather than a pointed one for safety reasons.
