Update log 4

Now perhaps making better progress and feel like i am getting some where. Decided rather than try to do a bit of everything at once. It is far better to follow one part to the end. At least in the written content. Railings seems the most sensible one to do, as it is where the majority of work comes from.

Have the main front page, that is terrible but can improve that. Have the first page dedicated to designing your own, that is ok sort of explains the whole point of it. Goes into talking about using pre made parts, Got a bar designs page which goes into reasonable detail on how to use the parts to make bars, with massive amounts of examples. Go a page explain the 100mm gap system. These are all generic and work for everything gates, railings etc

Have a page entitled “more” couldn’t think of a better name, but it has one purpose to direct you, specific areas. Short wall railings being the only one currently. there is a nice page called “wall and railings”, this deals with the number of bricks in a wall and its relationship to size.

From here i have hit an issue, now dealing with short or low wall railings. The plan was to take the 18 sizes of the wall and railings page, give 20 examples of each size. using those examples you could create your own, This would mean 360 examples which isnt a problem, the issue comes the page is going to be massively long. If a find or draw extra examples to add it will just get longer and longer. Whilst each image is relatively small in size the 910mm being only 4kb, as we get longer railing examples, the file size is going to get bigger.

If you are on a fast broadband connection it isnt a problem, but if you are looking at this via a mobile device on a poor speed connection, it is going to cause issues. The question i have to ask now is do i sub divided it into individual pages. For adding extra drawings individual pages is perhaps better. I certainly wouldnt worry that one section is light on drawing numbers whilst another is heavy. What i dont want to do is make it seem like you need a new page for every thing. but i suspect that is the case.

Even now as i am sitting writing these notes, i realise i have set myself a mammoth task to complete. That is going to take me at least a year to complete. but i have started making a “video” bench. Just a bench / table i can use when i start doing videos, at least for small thing like parts and bar design.
