Gate designs for 900 high double double bar series
Contained here in are over 100 designs for garden gates, with a double top and double bottom bar. Each design is based on 7 upright bars and a choice of top designs. All drawings are based on a 3ft wide gate, with the top flat bar of the frame being 900mm high when hung with 50mm ground clearance. For larger gates design adaption would be required to maintain space between upright bars.

Top of the gate and bar gap design.
First part here deals with the infill between the two double bars, and possible choice of top decoration design. All gate designs between the uprights bars are plain, but we will get into the internal gate design further down the page.
The basic double bar frame, with no top design or infill between double bar gap. it obviously needs an infill between horizontal bars but it could have just a flat top.
S scroll top with circle. infill between bars is circle and plain bar.
Top decor is extend frame with scrolls, infill just circles to fill the gap.

Full have arch for top decor and S scroll as gap infill. bear in mind the added height a full arch adds.
Extended frame with railing heads for the top, as always a choice of railing heads could be used. Gap infills C scroll and plain bar.
Ignoring the first gate design, as it has no gap infill, but as said nothing wrong with a plain top to a gate. This gives 8 possibilities for top decor for these gate designs. As far as gap infills go a choice of 7. If you take into account that it is possible to mirror image the scrolls used for gap infill. Although that is a minor design change, it does make a difference to the look of the gate. This gives a few more permutations. But we have at least 60 possible designs just from the base drawings, and we haven’t even started with the upright bars yet. This makes for a whole lot of gate designs. Just to add into the mix, there is no reason why you cant just have a double top bar without the double bottom. Or a double bottom bar and no double top.
Gate designs upright bars
This is all based on the internal gate designs, or the upright bars. If you have looked at the page Bars, you know that the designs are based on the ability to interchange component parts. This makes it very easy to produce a large collection of gate designs, and relatively simple to produce. Without the need for complicated drawings.
